PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the HVAC industry to hire a skilled Test Technician who’s ready to play a hands-on role in developing and validating next-generation heating and cooling systems. In this role, your work directly impacts product performance, safety, and efficiency—helping deliver reliable climate solutions to customers worldwide.
Your Impact
As an HVAC Test Technician, you’ll support engineering teams by building, testing, and refining commercial HVAC systems. Your expertise ensures products meet industry standards and perform at the highest level—making you a critical part of the product development lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
In this dynamic lab environment, your day-to-day will include:
Fabricating and assembling testing apparatuses for HVAC product development
Performing electrical and mechanical modifications to units and components
Setting up, instrumenting, and executing performance tests on HVAC systems (including rooftop units)
Running tests in accordance with ASHRAE and UL standards
Calibrating and maintaining test equipment
Troubleshooting units, instrumentation, and test setups
Accurately recording and documenting test data using data systems and Microsoft Office tools
Collaborating with engineers to review test procedures, results, and improvements
Assisting in training and guiding other technical support staff
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of hands-on HVAC experience
EPA 608 Refrigerant Certification
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
Ability to read and follow detailed test procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree (AA/AS) in Industrial Engineering or related field
Experience with electrical wiring (3-phase experience a plus)
Familiarity with refrigeration cycles and related components
Experience working with combustible or pressurized gases
Brazing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Clear written and verbal communication abilities
Proven ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Strong commitment to safety and quality

Pay Details: $31.45 per hour
